I was an odd little girl, always looking for the deeper meaning of things....
Bookish, fascinated by ethics, politics, and culture, I grew up an outlier in rural Ohio.
Fortunately I reached escape velocity and landed at various times in Hilleroed, Denmark; Cairo, Egypt; Washington, D.C.; Cambridge, MA; and now Oakland, CA.
My two careers — first as a business and political reporter, then as a brand and creative strategist — have anchored in finding hidden insight that elegantly unlocks a story. I’m still exploring some of the questions that interested me as a girl.
Outside of work, I practice vinyasa yoga and Theravada Buddhism. Other passions: singing in the San Francisco Choral Society, feeding people, volunteering, hiking with my dog, art and design, watching movies with my adultish kid, mixing cocktails, baking pies, obsessing over the news, tending my garden, and throwing dinner parties.
My favorite food is butter.
What else can I tell you?
